Enjoy your personal getaway in the Colorado Mountains!

Get away from the hustle and bustle, the phones and the TV. Stay two or three nights, a week, or more – with family, friends, or just by yourself.

Make yourself at home in an old-time mountain cabin nestled in the Ponderosa pines.  Our 2 bedroom cabins comfortably sleep 2-5 and include living rooms, fireplaces (in some units), fully equipped kitchens, and baths.

History and Innkeepers


Built in the 1940’s – the lodge has a rich history.   Once the Wild Rose, then The Rockledge Inn, both popular restaurants.  In the 90’s, the lodge gained traction as a mountain retreat center.  Cat & Cory became stewards of this magical property in 2007 (along with their 2 German Shepherds, Betelgeuse and Roxy). Irish Wolfhound, Dugan joined the fun in 2015.   Since 2007, Sunshine Mountain Lodge has evolved into a wedding venue, retreat center, desirable destination for family reunions and personal cabin getaways.

After a day of hiking, fishing, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in Rocky Mountain National Park or the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area, stretch out in a hammock or swing, soak in the outdoor hot tub (open spring/winter) and treat yourself to an on-site massage

Enjoy a game of horseshoes, volleyball, or Monopoly, relax with a good book, or share stories around the fireplace or outdoor open fire pit.
